Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and program CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
  • Interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code to determine machining operations.
  • Perform manual machining tasks including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding as required.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections of finished components using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
  • Select, install, and adjust appropriate tooling for various machining operations, performing regular tool setup and maintenance.
  • Monitor machine operations, detecting malfunctions or deviations, and making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and quality control standards.
  • Document production activities, including part dimensions, cycle times, and material usage.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in precision machining, including operating CNC mills and lathes.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and working from engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM models.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform precision machining with tight tolerances.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of G-code and M-code for CNC programming.
  • Expertise in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
  • Solid knowledge of various metals and composite materials and their machining properties.
  • Ability to perform tool setup and routine maintenance with accuracy.
